How It All Started
The unique concept behind City Food Tours was developed in New York City in 2003 when Joyce Weinberg, a seasoned food industry professional with more than 25 years of experience, wanted to share her passion for great handmade foods. From managing Fortune 500 food businesses, to buying gourmet chocolates for Bloomingdales, she’s done it all.
Joyce designed and managed a 125-seat restaurant in Philadelphia, which she owned with her brother, Robert. Robert now runs City Food Tours Philadelphia.
In 2007, Adams Media published Joyce's book, "The Everything Guide to Starting & Running a Catering Business."
The Weinbergs love sharing their passion for their respective cities and for the wonderful foods available in them. Guests can experience hidden gems and learn how the foods are made and where they come from.
Ms. Weinberg is a featured presenter at many resorts and private clubs including The Lodge at Woodloch, Mohonk Mountain House, The Explorers Club, The Princeton Club of NY, and many others.
Joyce is an art collector and has led food and art tours for the Museum of Art & Design and the American Museum of Natural History. She also loves teaching kids about good food, including her 5 year old son, Jonah.
As a food expert, Joyce designs specialty tours for those in the industry including trade organizations and corporate clients PepsiCo, Kraft Foods, the National Association for Specialty Foods, and many others.
